Who can ship goods from the UK?

If you are a private individual then you are free to ship your own personal goods, or items that you are selling, from the UK without any special permission from Customs & Excise.

However if you are a business and want to export goods to a country outside of the European Union then legally you will need to be a registered as an 'Business Exporter' and you must obtain an EORI Number.
